(ConservativeFreePress.com) – Biden is privately acknowledging that the next few days could be critical for his reelection bid.

According to a report by CNN, President Joe Biden has privately acknowledged that he understands the urgency of a campaign push in the face of recent setbacks.

CNN quoted a close confidant to the President, who stated, “He sees the moment. He’s clear eyed.”

Biden has been plagued by poll numbers, interview performances, and depleting fundraising. However, all this has ramped up since his abysmal debate performance with former President Donald Trump — a performance that spotlighted his advanced age and fanned concerns about a cognitive decline.

On Wednesday, the New York Times also reported that the President has admitted whether or not his campaign survives will be determined by his upcoming public events.

However, White House spokesperson Andrew Bates rebutted the claims Biden had even considered ending his campaign, describing these reports as “false.”

Biden has also ramped up his discussions with Democrat lawmakers, governors, and donors, reassuring them —  amid reports he may withdraw — that he is capable of carrying his campaign.

During a private conversation Biden had with a confidant on Tuesday, the confidant relayed that the President was regretful about his debate performance and attributed it to his extensive travel schedule.

The confidant relayed that Biden acknowledged doing “too much foreign policy,” and described his travels to France and Italy as “too much time change,” which he admitted “was a mistake.”

Biden had publicly joked at a fundraiser in Virginia that he nearly fell asleep on the debate stage because of his grueling travel schedule. Yet his attempt at humor didn’t land with many attendees.
