(ConservativeFreePress.com) – Former Secretary of State and former Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton argued in an opinion piece for the New York Times that Harris could win the presidency by mobilizing young voters and appealing to voters who are still skeptical. She argued that Harris has a strong record in bringing down family costs, pushing for greater gun control laws, and protecting rights.
After President Biden announced that he was dropping out of the presidential race, Harris quickly managed to win enough support from Democratic debates to become the party’s next nominee against Republican candidate Donald Trump. Many Democratic leaders have also expressed their support for Harris, who is President Biden’s current vice president.
On Monday, Harris’ campaign set a new 24-hour fundraising record by raising $81 million. The donations had come from more than 888,000 grassroots donors. Clinton expressed excitement for Harris and claimed that she would be a “fresh start” for U.S. politics. She further pointed out that Harris is talented and experienced and is ready to defeat former President Donald Trump and serve as the U.S. president.
Clinton however also pointed out that the Harris campaign would need to navigate through the current chaos and noise and pushed for voters to be discerning about everything they read and share. She also pointed out that Harris would face unique challenges as both a woman and the first South Asian and Black woman to lead a major party ticket. However, she pushed for voters not to be afraid of progress.
