(ConservativeFreePress.com) – Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) vowed to increase the state’s Mexican border operations amid news of Biden’s exit from the race.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Abbott noted that now that “[President] Joe Biden has… endorsed and fully supports ‘Border Czar’ [Vice President] Kamala Harris… I think I will need to triple the border wall,” the National Guard, and razor wire barriers along the border.
Abbott joined a long list of former President Donald Trump allies in lambasting the withdrawal of Biden and his endorsement of Harris after he announced his exit from the 2024 Presidential race.
Abbott has also been relentless in his pursuit of securing the border wall. Since launching his effort to intensify enforcement along his state’s southern border in 2021, Abbott has spent $11 billion on base construction, razor wire, and sending migrants to northern sanctuary cities.
During the last session, state lawmakers approved a further $5 billion in funding to secure Texas’ border.
However, it’s not only conservatives who have taken issue with Harris, considered a frontrunner to replace Biden at the top of the ticket. Progressives are also criticizing the Vice President for the contents of a speech she gave in 2021, as the migrant crisis was getting out of hand.
At the time, Harris warned potential migrants “thinking about making that dangerous trek” to the U.S.’s Southern border, “Do not come. Do not come.”
Since Sunday, more theories have emerged about the covert efforts Democrats’ make have pursued to get Biden to withdraw, including sabotaging him during the June debate, which Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick (R) wrote “was a hit job,” and the first step “to run [Biden] out.”
