(ConservativeFreePress.com) – Vice President Kamala Harris is “increasing her role” in the Biden-Harris reelection campaign.

After President Joe Biden’s dismal performance during the June 27 Presidential debate, Vice President Kamala Harris attempted to douse rumors she’d be replacing him by expressing her support for the President.

However, Cedric Richmond, co-chair of the Biden-Harris campaign, revealed on MSNBC’s “The Sunday Show with Jonathan Capehart,” that Harris is “increasing her role” in the campaign effort.

Richmond told hosts Harris is “increasing her role,” in the campaign but described the Veep as a “valued partner since day one.” Richmond also described Harris as “incredibly intelligent,” emphasizing that the Vice President hadn’t “only publicly stated her support for President Biden,” but had done the same in private.

Richmond also noted that Harris isn’t the only one pundits are predicting would replace Biden if he is forced to withdraw from the Presidential election. He highlighted California Governor Gavin Newsom and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer had also supported Biden both publicly and privately.

Calls for Biden to withdraw from the race reached a fever pitch after his abysmal performance at the Presidential debate on June 27, with some House Democrats publicly supporting that call.

Yet, in an attempt to quell concerns, the White House blamed his lackluster performance on a cold and has since sought to emphasize Biden is capable of winning — and completing — a second term.

During his appearance on MSNBC, Richmond noted that even though some Democrats had called for Biden to withdraw, “leaders are rallying around” Biden and Harris “because they understand what’s at stake” and what the pair had “accomplished” in office.
