(ConservativeFreePress.com) – On Tuesday, former Vice President Mike Pence slammed Republican leaders for approving a 2024 party platform that has a different stance on abortion and has called for the delegates to revert to the original language prior to the national convention next week.
In a statement through Advancing American Freedom, Pence’s advocacy group, the former Vice President argued that the current RNC platform was disappointing to the millions of Republicans who are pro-life and have been looking to the Republican Party to protect life. He added that this was not the time for them to surrender ground when it came to fighting for the right to life. He added that the 2024 platform had removed the pro-life principles that have long been an integral part of the platform’s foundation.
He continued by urging the delegates who will be in attendance at the Republican Convention to bring back the party’s platform’s previous language which was focused on the importance of the sanctity of life and reiterated that unborn children have a fundamental right to life, which should not be infringed.
On Monday the Republican platform committee provided approval to the new platform, which is a reflection of the stance followed by former President Donald Trump on many important issues including foreign policy, immigration, and trade while also removing the specific language that called for federal limits to be placed on abortion.
The platform noted that they believe in the Constitution’s 14th Amendment and that they proudly stand for life and families.
