(ConservativeFreePress.com) – According to reports, the man believed to be behind the assassination attempt on Trump had explosives in his car and bomb-making materials at his house.

Reporting by Fox News details that explosives, including an IED, had been found inside the car Thomas Matthew Crooks drove and parked near the Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Sources revealed the information but couldn’t divulge how many explosives were found, only revealing there were more than one.

Also, in Crooks’ home, law enforcement uncovered bomb-making materials.

After receiving multiple reports of a suspicious package near where the shooter was located, authorities dispatched bomb technicians.

Sources also revealed investigators remained at the scene well into Saturday night to ensure the area was clear and had conducted a search of Crooks’ home and spoke with his family.

Investigators believe the firearm Crooks used for his failed assassination attempt on Trump had been purchased by his father six months prior. However, federal agents were still investigating how and when Crooks obtained the gun from his father as they gathered additional information about the 20-year-old from Bethel Park in Pennsylvania.

Crooks’ identity was first confirmed by the FBI early on Sunday morning. The bureau noted the investigation is ongoing and encouraged those with information to submit their photos and videos to fbi.gov/butler or call 1-800-CALL-FBI.

Video footage that has since made the rounds online shows Crooks lying on the rooftop of a building 130 yards away from Trump. During multiple shots toward the stage, Crooks struck the upper part of the former President’s right ear.
