(ConservativeFreePress.com) – On Tuesday, Jenna Ellis became the fourth defendant in the 2020 case in Georgia to reach a plea agreement with prosecutors. Ellis is the third ex-Trump campaign lawyer to agree to a plea deal.
Previously, Ellis had stated she belonged to an “elite strike force team” of attorneys. She has now pleaded guilty to one count of aiding and abetting false statements and writings.
Ellis, who appeared tearful before the judge, claimed that had she known at the time what she knew now she would not have agreed to be former President Trump’s representative in the post-election challenges. Like the other defendants who have taken plea deals, Ellis is going to be testifying truthfully against the other defendants in the case, including Trump.
As part of the plea deal, Ellis will avoid time in prison, but is sentenced to 100 hours of community service, will be on probation for five years, and will be required to pay $5,000 in restitution. She will also need to write an apology letter to the citizens of Georgia.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D) issued charges against 19 defendants in August in the racketeering indictment where it is alleged that all the defendants had conspired unlawfully in order to ensure that former President Trump would continue to be in the White House.
Apart from Ellis, three others have taken plea deals. They were former bail bondsman Scott Hall and attorneys Kenneth Chesebro and Sidney Powell.
