Samaritan’s Purse Continues Strong Support for Israel

In a powerful display of Christian solidarity with Israel, Reverend Franklin Graham’s organization, Samaritan’s Purse, has once again stepped up to provide critical support to the Jewish state. At a recent ceremony in Avshalom, Israel, Graham announced the donation of two armored ambulances to Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s national emergency medical service, and pledged an additional 20 vehicles. This generous humanitarian contribution comes on the heels of a prior donation of 14 ambulances 7 months ago.

This latest contribution brings the total number of ambulances donated by Samaritan’s Purse to an impressive 42 since the Hamas terrorist attacks on October 7, 2023. The ceremony not only marked the delivery of life-saving vehicles but also served as a solemn remembrance for three American-Israelis tragically killed by Hamas: Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Roi Idan, and Smadar Mor-Idan.

Strengthening Israel’s Emergency Response Capabilities

The donation of armored ambulances is particularly significant given the ongoing security challenges faced by Israel. These specialized vehicles provide crucial protection for medical personnel operating in high-risk areas, ensuring that life-saving care can reach those in need even under dangerous circumstances.

“The need is so great, we have just committed to providing 20 more armored ambulances. The MDA team are heroes, saving lives every day, and it is an honor to stand with them.” – Reverend Franklin Graham.

In addition to the ambulance donation, Reverend Graham participated in a cornerstone-laying ceremony for a new MDA station near the Gaza border. This strategic location will significantly improve emergency response times in an area that has long been vulnerable to attacks. The construction of this station, along with another planned for Shlomi on the northern border, demonstrates Samaritan’s Purse’s commitment to enhancing Israel’s emergency medical infrastructure.

Comprehensive Aid Beyond Ambulances

Samaritan’s Purse’s support for Israel extends far beyond the donation of ambulances. The organization has been actively involved in providing humanitarian aid since the October 7 attacks, delivering essential supplies such as food, medical care, Bibles, water, medicine, and wheelchairs to those in need. Hundreds of lifesaving trauma supply kits have also been sent to Israel, equipping first responders with vital tools for emergency care.

“The generosity of Reverend Franklin Graham and his organization Samaritan’s Purse knows no bounds,” said Eli Bin, Director General of Magen David Adom. “As he dedicated eight additional armored ambulances and two new MDA stations, he told me he would donate another 28, taking the total to 42 life-saving vehicles. The people of Israel are indebted to this great man and organization.”

Working in partnership with local churches and ministry partners, Samaritan’s Purse is addressing both the physical and spiritual needs of communities impacted by the Israel-Hamas conflict. This holistic approach to aid reflects the organization’s Christian values and its commitment to showing God’s love through action.

A Beacon of Hope in Troubled Times

As Israel continues to face threats from hostile neighbors, the support of organizations like Samaritan’s Purse serves as a powerful reminder that the Jewish state does not stand alone. The dedication of Reverend Franklin Graham and his team to providing tangible, life-saving assistance demonstrates the enduring bond between evangelical Christians and Israel.

“Some may ask, why are we doing this?” Graham said. “I’m an evangelical Christian who loves Israel. I believe the Bible teaches that Israel is God’s people. There have been many battles that Israel has had to fight for its freedom.

In these challenging times, the actions of Samaritan’s Purse and other faith-based organizations provide not just material support, but also hope and encouragement to the people of Israel. As the region continues to grapple with conflict and uncertainty, such gestures of solidarity and practical assistance remain vital in ensuring Israel’s security and well-being.
